Frequently Asked Questions
What is chiropractic?

Without the use of drugs or surgery, chiropractic is a safe, scientifically based
health care discipline.  The conservative measures of this science rely upon the
inborn recuperative healing ability of your body to regain your health and to
stay well.  The essence of chiropractic is the adjustment for the correction of
the subluxation.

What is a subluxation?

A subluxation is an interference to the nervous system.  Your nervous system is
the communication network throughout your entire body.  Your nervous
system consists of your brain and spinal cord.  Your brain is protected by your
skull and your spinal cord is housed in your spine, which is composed of 24
individual moveable vertebrae (spinal bones).  Misalignment of the vertebrae
can result in changing the information passed along your nervous system.
How?  The subluxation (misalignment) can stretch, irritate, and even compress
the delicate nerves which exit from between the vertebrae.  This interference
can result in too much or too little function as well as in garbled signals much like
a weak signal on a radio station or static on the phone.

What is an adjustment?

An adjustment is a directionally controlled force applied to the sublxation
(misaligned vertebra).  The Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) uses either his/her
hands or an instrument to direct the vertebra to a corrected position.  This
gentle, conservative process is used on newborn infants, as well as those 100+
years of age.  Just as you intuitively know how much effort to use to hug a
baby, or a young adult, or someone of a frail condition, so does the D.C.
realize what effort is required to adjust each individual patient.
Does Insurance Cover any Nutritional Services?

Our nutritional services are considered a cash service.  What this means is that
payment is expected in full at the time of your visit or purchase.  This is
because we have been advised by insurance companies that nutritional services
will not be covered.  Please understand the reason we are not able to work out
payment plans when it comes to our supplements:  If they are not paid for at
the time of purchase, we unfortunately do not have the money to re-stock
what you have taken and in turn may not have what another patient is needing.
